Hints & Tips
Use SomeBody Weigh Better.
It gives you visual reporting that shows you exactly where you are and how a few small changes could make a huge difference.  It puts you back in control of yourself and your balance - a very good place to be.

Get off your ass !
Yes you must exercise and no, it doesn't ( and shouldn't ) be to the point where you are gasping for oxygen and praying for death to ease your pain !  Getting active is essential and as easy as going for a walk, chasing your children, window shopping in a mall - it all counts as being active.

Are you happy with "YOU" ?
Eating too much food is just a symptom of something else going on upstairs.  So find out what it is and deal with it.  I ate to deal with any emotion I felt, I ate to hide from a world that scared me and I ate to hid my non-existent self worth and self esteem.  I cannot fix any of them until I acknowledge them all and then actively work on changing them everyday.

Small changes make a difference
Willpower is not the determining factor in a weightloss journey - in fact it is highly over-rated.  A much better idea is to make small changes to your eating / exercise / life that are sustainable.  And before you know it you have made half a dozen small changes and are seeing results

Portions - how big is your plate ?
This is one of my favourite problems !  I love food, love everything about it from buying it, cooking it to ultimately eating it.  My portions used to be simply enormous and I have to actively deal with this every day..  When I serve dinner I serve up an extra plate and put it away for left-overs - that way I already have less on my plate.  When I buy meat I cut it up into serve sizes and then freeze them individually - that way there is no extra food being cooked.

Just for today
If I was to look at my journey as a whole - losing 100kg, I would never be able to succeed - I mean where would you even begin ?  Instead I look at just today.  Today I can made good decisions about what I do and what I eat.  So instead of trying to solve the entire problem in one day just focus on what you can do today.

Excuses
So very many excuses and so little time !  I used to live from one excuse to the next, blaming everyone and everything for my problems and unhappiness.  And then somewhere in this journey I realised that they all had to go.  They were all just a reason to allow me to fail myself.  There is no feeling like just accepting yourself and letting all of the excuses go.

Planning
Going out is great but it can very quickly lead to some poor choices.  Try to plan before you go out so that you take along your lunch or snacks with you.  The last thing you want is to be hungry and have only a dairy close by !

Lazy Eating
I cannot even guess how much food or how many calories I have consumed in front of the TV, computer or whilst driving.  Enjoy your food when you are eating it and not the frenzy of shoveling it in before the light turns green.

Avoidance
If food talks to you like it does me then we could all be in trouble  If you know you WILL eat all the chocolate that enters your house - don't let it in.  It sounds silly I know but if it is not in the cupboard you cannot eat it.

Tidy up before you eat
Serve the foods you are about to eat and then pack away all the boxes, packets, containers etc.  It is much more of a conscience decision to go to the cupboard, get out the packet, and serve yourself more than if it was right in front of you, open.

Read Packets
What we once thought of as "healthly food" could be filled with hidden calories e.g. salad dressings.  Always try to read the back of the packets first.

Water
Boring stuff ? I used to think so and so never drank any but you need it.  It does so much for you and keeps everything on the inside moving along.

Fast weightloss is a con
I think we all know that diets do not work.  The pills, potions and promises are not true or sustainable long term.  We must come to terms with the fact that a weightloss of up to 1 kg a week is healthy for us.  It allows our bodies to adjust to all the changes and makes it easier to maintain a healthy weight.
Enjoying having a neck !
